Summer is peeking around the corner and it’s screaming my name!! Strawberry Lemonade Slushees are just perfect. Literally. Strawberries unquestionably rank amongst the highest for ‘Most Deliciously Amazing and Versatile Fruit Ever in Life.’  They taste great in smoothies, salads, ice cream, jelly… with alcohol? I wouldn’t know.. that could possibly be a lie.. moving on! Rarely do I drink anything other than water, however.. when beautiful weather comes out to play and it starts to get spicy outside, a fruity smoothie is kind of hard to deny.
Now, I shall present to you two ways to do this. We can do this the natural way, which consists of a few added steps and some prep work (usually, a day in advance). Or, if you don’t care to prep a day in advance, this can be done the quick way!! Pick your poison, neither will result in a slush that lasts longer than 20 minutes. I guarantee it.

25 minTotal Time
½ head of white cabbage, chopped
1 carrot, finely shredded
½ red bell pepper, cut into thick strips for grilling
2 tablespoons of sweet Thai chili sauce
1/8th of a teaspoon of unagi (eel) sauce
1/8th of a teaspoon of srirach red chili sauce
½ tablespoon of seasoning salt
¼ teaspoon of Chinese 5 spice
½ teaspoon of garlic salt
pinch of pepper
pinch of salt
After seasoning chicken thighs with ½ tablespoon of seasoning salt, ¼ teaspoon of Chinese 5 Spice, ½ teaspoon of garlic salt and a pinch of pepper, let rest for about 20-30 minutes prior to grilling.
in a large saucepan, warm a tablespoon of olive oil, adding chopped cabbage and shredded carrots. After folding for several minutes, add just a pinch of salt and pepper, or - keep it au natural 😉
in a small bowl, whisk 2 tablespoons of sweet Thai chili sauce, 1/8th of a teaspoon of unagi sauce and 1/8th of a teaspoon of sweet Thai chili sauce and set aside. Grill the chicken thighs until they are perfectly golden brown on the inside and juicy on the inside. Try your best not to let the juices escape.
Lightly toss the chicken in your sweet thai chili sauce mixture and serve with sautéed cabbage and carrots over brown rice.
THE QUICKER WAY
1 Bag of Frozen Strawberries (partially frozen)
1 Welch’s Frozen Strawberry Breeze Juice Concentrate
In a blender, mix frozen strawberries thawed (depending on how frozen they are, you may wish to add ice), two tablespoons of Welch’s Frozen Strawberry Breeze, half of a freshly squeezed lemon and a splash of ice.
Put that Strawberry Lemonade Slush in a Starbucks Tumblr cup & turn up!  For a good time, add wine! If you’re feeling risky add whiskey!!
